Notice of Recurring Maintenance
This information policy should be reviewed and updated at least once per year.
Recurring Maintenance of OLX
Notice Purpose
- This notice will serve as notification for the normal, recurring maintenance which is required for the continued operation of the servers on which OLX is hosted.
Reasons for Normal, Recurring Maintenance
- There are several reasons to schedule recurring maintenance of the servers. Such reasons include but are not limited to:
- Updates for the Operating System- including security and other patches
- Maintenance of the databases or file systems hosting the Web Application (OLX)
- Firmware updates of components like routers and firewalls
- Security and disaster recovery plan testing
- Normal version upgrades of OLX are not covered under this notice. A separate notice and procedure is in place for the upgrade of your OLX to a new version.
- Occasionally the window for maintenance may be longer than the two hours should we deem the work to be done will exceed the two hours scheduled; this will be for such as for disaster recovery testing or maintenance of HVAC/power.
Time Period for Normal, Recurring Maintenance
- The scheduled maintenance window will be as follows:
- From 12am to 2am Eastern Time on the Monday following the second Tuesday of the month. This is the Monday following “Patch Tuesday”
- While a two-hour window has been reserved on the above date, typical downtime for scheduled maintenance should be one half hour or less.
Procedures Following the Normal, Recurring Maintenance
- While all patches are tested before being deployed, problems may still result from the application of updates.
- In the hours following the normal, recurring maintenance, OLX asks that all clients submit a helpdesk ticket for any issues that are still present after 2am on the day of the update.
- Problems in OLX resulting from the normal, recurring maintenance which result in a full outage of OLX will be considered Priority 1 issues.
